Hey there! If you’re thinking about starting a service-based business but feeling a little lost on where to begin, you’re in the right place. Today, we’re going to explore three different ways you can launch your business. No complicated jargon, no overwhelming to-do lists—just simple, actionable steps to help you get started.
So, grab a cup of coffee (or tea, if that’s more your style), get comfy, and let’s dive in!
You have this strong desire to start your own service-based business, but let’s be real—it feels overwhelming. There’s so much information out there, and instead of feeling inspired, you’re stuck in a cycle of doubt and indecision.
Maybe you’ve been scrolling through social media, wondering how everyone else seems to be thriving in their businesses while you’re still trying to figure things out. If that sounds like you, don’t worry. You’re not alone. And more importantly, you’re not stuck.
Starting a business doesn’t have to be complicated. You just need a clear path. And guess what? There are three main paths you can take.
Let’s break them down.
This is the simplest and most direct way to start a service-based business. With this approach, you focus on getting clients first, without worrying too much about branding, websites, or marketing strategies upfront.
Here’s how it works:
This path works best if you have a skill that people need right now. It’s also great if you want to start earning immediately, rather than spending months preparing for a launch.
The downside? Since you’re not focusing on marketing yet, it may take longer to build long-term stability. But if you’re looking for a way to start quickly, this is a solid option.
This is the path where you build an audience first before offering your service. Instead of jumping straight into selling, you focus on growing your platform (like a blog, podcast, YouTube channel, or Instagram account).
Here’s how this works:
This method takes longer but has some major perks. By the time you launch your service, you already have people who trust you and are excited to work with you. The downside? You’re not making money right away, so it requires patience and consistency.
This is a combination of the first two paths, and it’s exactly what it sounds like—you do everything at once! You create your service, build your audience, set up your marketing channels, and launch all at the same time.
Here’s what this looks like:
This method is great because it sets you up for long-term success. You’re building a solid foundation and creating a full business strategy from the start. However, it requires a lot of time, energy, and possibly some financial investment.
If you’re an experienced entrepreneur or someone who thrives on structure, this could be a great fit for you. But if you’re just starting out, this might feel a little overwhelming. And that’s okay!
The best path for you depends on where you are right now. Let’s do a quick recap:
Remember, there’s no right or wrong way—just the way that works best for you. If you start with one path and realize it’s not for you, you can always pivot. The key is to take action and start somewhere!
Starting a business is a faith-filled journey, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you’re feeling stuck, unsure of what to do next, or overwhelmed with too many options, take a deep breath. Choose a path and take the first step.
