ep 23 Have you ever felt like you were meant for more? Like you wanted to go beyond your 9-to-5 and create something meaningful? If so, you’re not alone.
At the start of the year, I had the opportunity to chat with a few amazing women as part of my market research. My goal? To understand their biggest desires when it comes to starting a business. And guess what? One word kept coming up over and over again—impact.
Everyone wanted to make a difference, to touch lives beyond their corporate careers, to leave the world a little better than they found it. And honestly, that didn’t surprise me one bit. Because at the end of the day, fulfillment doesn’t come from just making money or achieving goals—it comes from making an impact.
So, how do you become a woman of impact in business? Let’s talk about three things you can start doing right now to make a real difference in your business and in the lives of others.
Yep, you heard that right. Stop the comparison game.
It’s so easy to scroll through social media and feel like you’re not doing enough. Maybe you see another woman killing it in her business, and you start to wonder if you’re even on the right path. But here’s the truth—comparison kills impact.
When you compare yourself to others, you take your eyes off your unique journey. You start to feel like you’re not good enough, smart enough, or talented enough to make a difference. And that’s just not true.
Think about this: you were created with a divine design—a specific purpose that no one else can fulfill the way you can. Your gifts, your experiences, your story—they’re all part of what makes your impact unique.
So, instead of comparing, focus on becoming the best version of yourself. Celebrate your progress. Own your journey. Because the moment you stop comparing and start embracing your own path, you’ll begin to show up in a way that changes lives.
Want to leave a lasting impact? Treat everyone—including yourself—like they matter. Because they do.
I’ll never forget an experience I had at a shipping company. I walked in to send a package, and the woman at the front desk looked at me like I was wasting her time. She glanced at my small package and said, “That’s it? We usually deal with bigger shipments.” The way she made me feel? Unimportant.
That was a zero-star experience. And guess what? I never went back.
Now, let’s flip the script. Imagine if she had greeted me warmly, made me feel valued, and thanked me for choosing their service. That would’ve left a positive impact, right?
So how can you create a five-star experience in your business?
When people feel valued, they remember. And that’s how you build a business that leaves an impact.
This one is big.
If you’re serious about being a woman of impact, you have to shift your mindset about how you talk about other businesses.
It’s easy to criticize. Maybe you see a coach charging high-ticket prices, and you think, I would never pay that much! Or you see a business owner making a mistake, and you feel tempted to call them out. But here’s the thing—what you sow, you reap.
When you constantly criticize other businesses, you create an environment where negativity and lack become the norm. And that mindset will creep into your own business.
Instead of criticizing:
When you do this, you start to attract the kind of clients, partnerships, and opportunities that align with your vision.
Let’s do a quick recap:
You have the power to be a woman of real impact in your business. And it doesn’t take some huge, complicated strategy. It starts with small, intentional steps—choosing to show up, serve well, and create meaningful change.
So, what’s one thing you’re going to start doing today to increase your impact? Let’s chat in the comments—I’d love to hear from you!
And if this post resonated with you, share it with a fellow entrepreneur who needs to hear it. Because when we lift each other up, we create a ripple effect of impact.
Let’s make a difference—together.
