ep 20 Wow, what a ride! I’m officially celebrating 20 episodes of this podcast, and I have to say, I’m beyond thrilled. This milestone isn’t just a number to me; it’s a testament to the growth, the hard work, and the encouragement I’ve received from all of you. If you’ve been with me since the very first teaser episode, Episode Zero, or you’ve just tuned in recently, I want to take a moment to thank you. Seriously. Thank you for sticking with me, for listening, for being part of this journey.
Starting this podcast has been such a fulfilling experience, and I’m excited to reflect on how far we’ve come together. But not only am I celebrating, I also want to share some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from this adventure. So, grab your favorite drink, relax, and let’s dive into this!
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from launching this podcast is that you have to start to grow. It sounds simple, right? But for me, this was a game-changer.
I remember thinking to myself: What if no one listens? What if I don’t have enough content? What if I mess up? Honestly, all of those doubts were real. I had to fight through a lot of negative self-talk just to get that first episode recorded. But the truth is, if I hadn’t taken that first step, I wouldn’t be here now celebrating episode 20. I wouldn’t have nearly 2,000 downloads or be ranked in the top 2.5% of podcasts globally.
So, if you’ve been thinking about starting something—whether it’s a business, a podcast, or a new project—just start. Don’t wait for everything to be perfect. The growth, the opportunities, and the lessons all happen after you take that leap of faith.
Another powerful lesson I’ve learned is that lives are being transformed by what I’m doing, even if I can’t always see it. There was one week in particular (around Episode 16 or 17) when I was feeling low. I didn’t feel like recording. I was doubting myself and wondering if anyone was actually listening.
But then, something amazing happened. I went to my hairstylist’s salon to get my hair done, and as we started talking, she said, “Oh, by the way, I’ve been listening to your podcast, and I just love it!” I was floored. She even mentioned specific episodes that had helped her, like the one about the power of 15 minutes.
This moment reminded me that even when you feel like no one is paying attention, you’re still making an impact. It’s the little things that matter. You may not always get the immediate feedback or recognition, but know that you are transforming lives. Keep showing up. The people who need to hear your message will find it, and it will make a difference.
The third lesson, and probably the most personal, is that God is my unlimited supply of everything I need. When I first started, one of my biggest fears was running out of things to say. I worried about whether I’d have enough content, whether I’d be able to keep things fresh, and whether I could keep up with the demands of producing weekly episodes.
But over time, I’ve learned to trust that God will always provide. Whether it’s inspiration for an episode topic or the courage to keep going, I’ve discovered that when you’re doing something aligned with your purpose, you’re never without the resources you need.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat down to record, feeling unsure of what to say next, only to have the words come to me at the right moment. God has been my guide through this whole process, and I’m learning to trust that when He leads you to do something, He will equip you with everything you need to succeed.
As I mentioned earlier, when I launched this podcast on December 31, 2022, I had zero listeners. Zero downloads. But look at where we are now! As of today, this podcast has been downloaded nearly 2,000 times and is ranked in the top 2.5% of podcasts globally. That’s incredible to me, and it blows my mind every time I see those numbers.
When I started, I had no idea where this journey would take me. I didn’t know that my little podcast would be heard in over 40 countries, from the United States to Grenada, from Nigeria to Papua New Guinea. Just last week, I received messages from listeners in places I’ve never been, telling me how much the podcast has impacted them.
It’s moments like these that remind me why I started in the first place. It’s not about the numbers or the recognition. It’s about knowing that I’m helping someone, somewhere, take that first step toward their dream. It’s about being part of someone else’s journey to growth, just like I was once part of that journey.
I’m so excited about the future of this podcast and my business. In the coming months, I’ll be launching one-on-one coaching, where I’ll work directly with people who want to start their own service-based businesses. This has been something I’ve been praying about and planning for, and I’m thrilled to share it with you soon. If you’re interested in getting more hands-on support and guidance from me, keep your eyes peeled for more details!
As I wrap up this post, I want to share a verse that has kept me going throughout this journey:
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” – Philippians 1:6
This verse is a reminder that if God has started something in you, He will see it through to completion. Whether you’re just starting your podcast, your business, or anything else, know that you’re not alone in this. You have everything you need to succeed.
Thank you again for being here with me. Thank you for your support, your encouragement, and your belief in what I’m doing. I can’t wait to see what the next 20 episodes (and beyond) bring!
Until next time, remember, you have all you need to start that business.
If you found this post helpful or inspiring, I’d love for you to share it with someone who might need a little encouragement today. And don’t forget to leave a review—your feedback means the world to me.
