Hey sis, let me ask you something real quick—have you ever found yourself saying, “If only I had more time, I’d finally start that business God’s been nudging me about?”
You’re not alone.
So many Christian moms feel this exact same way. You have the desire, the dream, and even the idea—but the time? It just doesn’t seem to be there.
Between raising your children, keeping up with your home, being there for your spouse, serving in church, and all the countless responsibilities you juggle daily… it can feel like starting a business is just another thing to pile on top. And that thought alone can be overwhelming.
But here’s the truth: You don’t need more time. You need better time management—the kind that works with your current life season, not against it.
Let me introduce you to a simple but powerful framework I call The ABCs of Time Management. It changed everything for me, and I believe it can change things for you too.
Growing up, I often heard women being praised for doing it all.
“I do my daughter’s hair myself. I cook all the meals from scratch. I clean every corner of my house. I wash, fold, and iron every single piece of laundry. I even change the lightbulbs!”
It became this badge of honor—being able to do everything on your own without help. And honestly, I carried that mindset into adulthood. I tried to be that “strong woman” who didn’t need anybody.
But instead of feeling strong, I often felt exhausted, overwhelmed, and defeated.
Here’s the truth I learned the hard way: strong women need help too. In fact, the strongest women know when and how to ask for help.
And that’s exactly what the ABCs of Time Management are here to help you do.
The first and most important step is to accept the time you’ve been given.
Instead of wishing for more hours in the day, start by embracing the time you already have. Because guess what? Time is a gift—a resource God has given to you, and it looks different for each of us depending on our season of life.
When you stop complaining and start accepting, everything begins to shift. Gratitude enters. Peace follows. And creativity flows.
For example, during the years when my kids were toddlers, my available time was very limited. I couldn’t compare myself to someone whose kids were grown or who had full-time help at home. That would’ve only led to frustration. But once I accepted my current season and the time it came with, I was able to use it more intentionally.
So ask yourself:
🔹 What season of life am I in right now?
🔹 How much time do I truly have to give each day or week?
🔹 What can I realistically commit to in this season?
Once you accept your time, you’ll stop fighting against it—and begin flowing with it.
Okay, so now that you’ve accepted your time, what’s next?
You need to budget it—just like you would with money.
Think about it this way: If you don’t tell your money where to go, it disappears, right? Same with time. If you don’t give it purpose, it vanishes into endless scrolling, busywork, or mental clutter.
Here are four ways you can start budgeting your time right away:
Pick a day—say Monday—and track everything you do from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed. Be honest. Where is your time actually going?
You might be surprised at how much time is spent on things that don’t truly matter to you or move you toward your goals.
Once you’ve tracked your time, take a step back and decide what truly matters based on your life season.
For example, if your kids are still little, maybe your mornings are sacred mommy time, but your afternoons could be used for business tasks during nap time. A mom with teens may have more flexible hours during the school day. You get to decide based on your life.
Now it’s time to build a schedule that reflects your priorities. You can make:
Or any combo that works for you! There’s no one-size-fits-all here. You get to design your own rhythm.
Time blocking means grouping similar tasks together in dedicated time slots. For example, you could block:
That way, instead of multitasking and jumping from thing to thing, you’re focused and efficient. And it feels so good to know you’re being intentional with your day.
Now, let’s talk about something that sounds impossible but isn’t: Creating more time.
No, we’re not adding extra hours to the day (I wish!), but we can create more usable time by freeing up what we already have.
Here are two powerful ways to do that:
This one is big. And yes, it goes against everything our “strong woman” culture teaches.
But remember the Proverbs 31 woman? She had help. She woke up early and gave tasks to her maidservants. She knew her time was valuable, so she made sure she used it for what mattered most—and she delegated the rest.
If you’re doing everything yourself, you’re likely exhausted and not operating in your zone of purpose.
Could someone else:
You’re not lazy for asking for help. You’re wise.
When you delegate, you multiply your time. You get to be in two places at once—doing the things only you can do while someone else handles the things that don’t need your unique touch.
The second way to create more time is to automate as much as possible using systems and routines.
This doesn’t mean fancy tech tools (unless you want that). I’m simply talking about habits and rhythms that help you get things done without having to overthink them.
Think about:
When your daily tasks are systemized, you reduce decision fatigue and move through your day with more ease—and more time.
Sis, if you’ve been stuck thinking you don’t have enough time to start that business God has placed in your heart, remember this:
Let me leave you with this powerful scripture:
“Help us to remember that our days are numbered, and help us to interpret our lives correctly. Set your wisdom deeply in our hearts so that we may accept your correction.”
— Psalm 90:12 (TPT)
God has given you time, and with His help, you can use it wisely. You don’t need to hustle your way into burnout. You don’t need to do everything by yourself. And you certainly don’t need to wait for a “perfect” time that may never come.
You already have all you need to start that business—and time is part of the equation when you manage it wisely.
So, what’s one thing you can do today? Just one small step to either accept, budget, or create more time?
Whatever it is, start there. Your business journey doesn’t need to be perfect. It just needs to begin.
