I just want to take a moment to say THANK YOU. Yes, you! Whether you’ve been following my journey for a while or you just stumbled upon this post, I appreciate you being here. Your support and presence mean everything to me.
Today, I want to share something close to my heart: how I incorporate giving into my coaching business. You see, I believe that business isn’t just about making money—it’s about making an impact. It’s about serving, uplifting, and giving back. When you align your business with a purpose, it becomes so much more than just a job. It becomes a mission.
One of my life philosophies comes from scripture: Freely you have received; freely give (Matthew 10:8). That simple yet powerful truth has shaped the way I live and the way I run my business.
Giving isn’t just something I do once in a while—it’s woven into the very fabric of my coaching business. My name, Chinyere, actually means “God’s gift,” so giving has always felt like a natural extension of my purpose.
Let’s dive into the five (plus one bonus!) ways I intentionally incorporate giving into my coaching business. If you’re a business owner (or dreaming of becoming one), I hope these ideas inspire you to make giving a foundational part of your journey, too.
This is HUGE.
So many times, we hear phrases like self-made millionaire or self-made entrepreneur. But truthfully? I don’t believe in being “self-made.” Everything I have—my skills, my resources, my success—is because of God’s grace. I’m just a steward of what He has entrusted me with.
When you shift your mindset from ownership to stewardship, it changes the way you view money, business, and generosity. Instead of clinging to every dollar, you realize that you are simply a vessel. And when you’re a faithful steward, you’re more open to giving freely and abundantly.
One of the most practical ways I ensure that I’m always giving back is by creating a Giving Account.
I first learned this concept through the Profit First system, which recommends setting up multiple accounts for different business expenses. I took it a step further and added a designated Giving Account. Every time I make a sale, a portion automatically goes into that account.
This does two things:
By setting aside a specific percentage, I’m prioritizing giving rather than making it an afterthought.
This is where my Giving Account comes into play. Every quarter, I prayerfully decide where to give from this fund. I focus on causes that align with my values, such as:
I firmly believe that when we sow into Kingdom work, we are investing in something far greater than ourselves. The impact of our giving goes beyond what we can see.
I LOVE giving gifts! It’s my love language. And I make sure that every client who works with me experiences that love.
When someone signs up for my coaching program, they receive an intentional thank-you gift. But not just any gift—I put a lot of thought into choosing something that will genuinely bless them. It’s my way of saying, I see you, I appreciate you, and I’m honored to be part of your journey.
Giving isn’t just for charities or big causes. It starts at home.
I make it a priority to bless my family, support my local church, and contribute to my community. Whether it’s helping a family member in need, tithing, or donating to local initiatives, I want to be a person who gives freely in all areas of life.
It’s easy to think of giving in grand, dramatic ways, but sometimes, the most meaningful acts of generosity happen in everyday moments.
This is one of my favorite ways to give! As a small business owner myself, I know how much it means when someone believes in your work.
Whenever I can, I:
Supporting someone’s business is a powerful way to give back. It’s not just about money—it’s about encouragement, empowerment, and creating a ripple effect of generosity.
Giving isn’t just about charity. It’s about making generosity a lifestyle. It’s about recognizing that we are blessed to be a blessing.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. This is your season to reflect, to be grateful, and to give from the abundance of your heart.
I pray that the Holy Spirit inspires you to find ways to incorporate giving into your business, no matter how big or small. When we lead with generosity, we create businesses that not only thrive financially but also make a lasting impact.
Thank you for being here, for reading this, and for being part of this mission. Let’s go out there and build businesses that change lives!
With love and gratitude,
