As a Kingdom Entrepreneur, one of the most powerful practices you can implement into your daily routine is praying Scripture. There’s something incredibly impactful about speaking God’s Word back to Him, knowing that it holds power to bring about transformation in our lives. The Scriptures I’m sharing today are not just beautiful words to memorize but are life-changing when applied to your business and personal journey as an entrepreneur.
These three scriptures will help you to surrender, submit, and accept God’s divine process, plan, and purpose for your business. So, let’s dive right in.
The first scripture I pray regularly is from Matthew 13:15, which says:
“For the hearts of these people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, so that I should heal them.” (NKJV)
Now, this scripture might sound a little tricky at first. What exactly do you pray here, right? But stick with me for a moment. This is Jesus speaking, and He is describing a group of people whose hearts are dull, whose ears can’t hear, and whose eyes are closed. When running a business, especially if you’ve been in it for a while, it’s easy to fall into the trap of becoming a bit “dull” in your perception—losing the excitement, not being able to see opportunities clearly, or failing to hear God’s guidance.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve been in places where my eyes and ears have been closed to the truth I need to move my business forward.
So, the way I pray this Scripture is simple and impactful. I say:
“Lord, open my eyes to see clearly, open my ears to hear You, and give me a heart to understand what I need to do in my business today.”
It’s a powerful prayer. It’s about asking God to help me stay fresh, to keep my heart sensitive to His direction, to hear the insights that can lead to transformation in my business. When your eyes are opened, your ears can hear, and your heart can understand what God wants you to do, transformation begins to take place.
You see, in the business world, sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own plans and ideas that we fail to notice when God is trying to show us something new. But when we pray this scripture, it positions us to receive divine guidance, no matter where we are in our business journey.
If you’re feeling a little stuck or unclear about the next steps in your business, I encourage you to start praying this daily. It might not be every day, but at least once a week, say:
“Lord, open my eyes, open my ears, and give me a heart to understand, so I can turn to the transformation You have for me and my business.”
The next scripture I pray regularly is Ephesians 3:16-18, which says:
“I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is.” (NLT)
As entrepreneurs, especially if you are serving your clients, customers, and even your team, it’s easy to feel burned out. There’s the constant pressure to give your best and serve others well. Sometimes, you’re juggling family life on top of all the business responsibilities. Can anyone relate?
It’s during these times that I lean on this scripture. When I feel worn out, I pray:
“Lord, from Your glorious, unlimited resources, empower me with inner strength through Your Spirit. May Christ make His home in my heart as I trust in Him. Let my roots grow deep into Your love so that I stay strong. And give me the power to understand the vastness of Your love for me—how wide, how long, how high, and how deep it is.”
This prayer has been a lifeline when I’m tired, when I feel like I’ve given all I have and have nothing left. It’s a reminder that God’s love is limitless, and through His love and strength, I can continue serving my clients and family. His love gives me the fuel I need to go another day.
As Kingdom Entrepreneurs, we’re not just building a business to profit for ourselves. We’re serving people. We’re answering needs. But sometimes, the work can be draining, and that’s when we need to tap into the limitless strength God has for us. The power of understanding His love for us is a game changer.
So, if you’re feeling weary from the grind, say this prayer:
“Lord, empower me with inner strength through Your Spirit, and help me stay rooted in Your love, no matter what.”
Scripture #3: Proverbs 19:21 – Let God’s Purpose Prevail
The third and final scripture I pray regularly is from Proverbs 19:21:
“You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.” (NIV)
This is such a simple yet profound verse. As entrepreneurs, we tend to make plans, set goals, and outline the direction we want to go. And that’s great! Planning is important. But this verse reminds us that, ultimately, God’s purpose will prevail over our plans.
The prayer I pray based on this scripture is:
“God, as I make all my plans for my business, may Your purpose prevail. Let Your will be done in my business. Let Your agenda override my own.”
This is a prayer of surrender. It’s a prayer of submission. It’s about recognizing that, yes, I can make plans, but ultimately, I want God’s will to be done, not my own. This helps keep my heart aligned with God’s purpose for my business. It’s so easy to let our own desires and ambitions take the lead, but this prayer helps remind me that my business is not just about me—it’s about what God wants to accomplish through me.
I pray this prayer regularly, not just once, but as part of my weekly planning sessions. Every time I sit down to review my business goals and make new plans, I ask God to ensure His purpose is the ultimate focus.
You see, when we operate with the mindset that God’s plans are bigger and better than our own, it’s amazing how much peace and clarity comes into our work. Surrendering our own agendas for His is always the best choice, even when it feels uncertain or uncomfortable.
So, when you’re planning for the future of your business, include this prayer:
“Lord, as I make plans, let Your purpose prevail. Let Your will be done in my business.”
