Are you someone who’s been dreaming about starting a business but feel hesitant because of the economic climate? Maybe you’re worried about inflation, recession, or all the uncertainties that come with it. Well, let me tell you, you can start a kingdom business no matter what the economy looks like. God has a plan for your business, and when you partner with Him, you’ll see that the economy doesn’t have to hold you back.
Whether you’re starting your business now or you’ve been thinking about it for a while, I want to share three powerful reasons why you can start a kingdom business in any economy. Trust me, if God has placed a business idea in your heart, there’s no better time than now to take that step!
Before diving into the reasons, let’s clarify what a kingdom business really is. A kingdom business isn’t just about making money—it’s about making a difference. It’s a business that impacts lives through the products or services you offer, makes a profit, and ultimately glorifies God. But most importantly, it spreads the gospel of Jesus Christ.
When you run a kingdom business, you are bringing heavenly solutions to earthly problems. And in doing so, you are shining God’s light through your work. So, when I talk about a kingdom business, I’m talking about a business that’s driven by God’s purpose for you, and it’s aligned with His mission here on earth.
Now, let’s get to the good stuff—why you can start a kingdom business, even in challenging economic times.
The first reason why you can start a kingdom business in any economy is that stability is guaranteed.
I want to share with you a scripture from Psalm 92:12-14 (NLT): “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green.”
This scripture is powerful because it paints a picture of a business that’s planted firmly in God’s kingdom. Just like palm trees, which are known for their incredible ability to survive even the harshest conditions (think hurricanes!), you too, as a kingdom business owner, will be able to thrive no matter what challenges come your way.
Why? Because when you’re a kingdom citizen, you’re living under God’s system, not the world’s. Your roots are deeply embedded in the kingdom of heaven, and no economic storm can uproot you. Just like the palm tree that bends with the wind but doesn’t break, you will flourish in any circumstance.
I can personally vouch for this. My business has been through its share of challenges—recessions, inflation, currency devaluation—but it’s still standing strong. That’s because, when you’re doing God’s work, He promises to uphold you.
So, if you’re feeling unsure about starting your business because of the economy, let this truth sink in: Your business will be stable because it’s planted in God’s kingdom.
The second reason why you can start a kingdom business in any economy is that victory is guaranteed.
Let me explain. 1 John 5:4 (NIV) says, “for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”
When God births an idea in your heart, it doesn’t matter what the world throws at it—you will overcome. Yes, starting a business will come with challenges. It might feel like you’re facing a battle, but remember, the victory is already won. Your business is born of God, and whatever is born of Him overcomes the world.
Think about it like this: for something to “overcome,” there must be a battle, right? So, starting and growing your kingdom business may come with some bumps along the way, but you can have confidence that you will always come out on top because God is with you.
There’s no need to be afraid of the obstacles or economic troubles—your business will stand tall, no matter the challenges. Victory is guaranteed because your idea is rooted in God’s plan.
The third and final reason why you can start a kingdom business in any economy is because God’s help is guaranteed.
Psalm 34:19 (NIV) says, “The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.”
This is such an encouraging verse! It’s a reminder that, as a kingdom business owner, you will face troubles—but God promises to help you through them all.
There will be days when things don’t go as planned, when sales are low, or when you’re unsure about how to move forward. But God is your helper. He’s there to provide guidance, wisdom, and support whenever you need it. Just like an ambassador represents their country with full support, you, as a kingdom business owner, have the full backing of the kingdom of heaven.
You are not alone in this journey! You are an ambassador of Christ in the marketplace, and God will never leave you stranded. You can always count on His help to navigate any situation and to overcome any challenges that come your way.
Now that you know these three reasons why you can start a kingdom business in any economy, let’s recap:
So, I ask you—what are you waiting for?
If God has placed a business idea on your heart, it’s time to take that first step in faith. Don’t let the economy hold you back. You have everything you need to succeed—stability, victory, and God’s help.
As Isaiah 41:10 says, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
God is with you every step of the way. So step out, trust in His promises, and start the kingdom business He has called you to create.
Starting a kingdom business may seem daunting at first, but with the right mindset, the right help, and the right support from above, you can overcome anything and see your business flourish—no matter the economy. If you’re ready to start, I’m here to encourage you and support you along the way.
Let me know—what’s the kingdom business that God has placed on your heart? Let’s get started!
