This is the only time management guide to successfully start managing your time.
Have you ever felt like there’s just not enough time in the day to work on your business? Like you’re constantly juggling responsibilities, but somehow your service-based business keeps getting pushed to the bottom of your to-do list?
I get it. Life is busy. Between work, family, personal commitments, and everything else life throws at us, finding time to start and grow your business can feel impossible.
But here’s the truth—time isn’t the problem. How we manage our time is.
That’s exactly what I talked about at a women’s event recently. I shared a simple yet powerful framework that can help you make the most of the time you have. I call it the ABCs of Time Management. And today, I want to share it with you too!
The first step to managing your time well is to accept it.
We all get 24 hours in a day. Not a second more, not a second less. The most successful people in the world have the same 24 hours as you do. So why do some people seem to accomplish so much while others struggle to get anything done? It all comes down to mindset.
When we complain about not having enough time, we keep ourselves stuck. But when we accept the time we have, our brain shifts from complaining mode to problem-solving mode. Instead of thinking, “I don’t have enough time,” we start asking, “How can I make the most of the time I do have?”
Think about how God created the world in Genesis 1. The earth was formless and empty, but God didn’t complain about it. Instead, He got to work. He accepted the situation and then started creating.
What would happen if, instead of wishing for more time, you accepted the 24 hours you have and started using them intentionally?
Now that you’ve accepted your time, the next step is to budget it.
Think of time like money. If you don’t tell your money where to go, it disappears. The same thing happens with time. If you don’t tell your time where to go, you’ll waste it on distractions, unimportant tasks, or just scrolling on your phone.
Budgeting your time means being intentional about how you spend it. Here’s how you can do it:
For example, if you struggle with keeping your house clean, create a system where you clean one room a day instead of waiting until everything piles up. If you’re struggling to find time to work on your business, set aside a dedicated time each day—even if it’s just 30 minutes.
I know what you’re thinking—“Wait, what? I thought we all have the same 24 hours?”
Yes, but here’s the secret: you can create more time by using other people’s time.
This is where delegation comes in. You don’t have to do everything yourself.
Think about Moses in Exodus 18. He was trying to handle all the people’s disputes by himself, and he was completely overwhelmed. But his father-in-law told him, “This is not good. You are going to wear yourself out!” Instead, he advised Moses to delegate some of his responsibilities to capable people who could help him.
The same applies to you. If you’re trying to do everything on your own, you’re going to wear yourself out. It’s time to get help.
Here are some ways you can create more time:
The goal is to free up time so you can focus on what matters most—growing your business and stepping into the purpose God has for you.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed and like there’s never enough time to work on your service-based business, I hope the ABC’s of Time Management help you take control of your time.
You do have time to build your business. You do have time to become all that God created you to be. But it starts with being intentional about how you manage the time He’s already given you.
Now, I’d love to hear from you! What’s one small change you can make today to manage your time better? Let me know in the comments!
